Course Overview
Gender and Natural Resource Management Training Course
Introduction
Gender and Natural Resource Management (NRM) Training Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to integrate gender equity into sustainable management of natural resources. With growing challenges like climate change, deforestation, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss, gender-sensitive approaches are critical for achieving inclusive environmental governance. This course emphasizes the intersection of women’s empowerment, community participation, and policy frameworks to ensure that natural resource management benefits all stakeholders equitably.
Through an interactive and case-based methodology, participants will explore how social norms, gender roles, and power dynamics influence access to and control over natural resources. The course leverages global and local case studies, participatory learning, and practical toolkits to foster leadership, decision-making, and advocacy skills for sustainable and gender-responsive resource management. By the end of the training, participants will be prepared to design, implement, and evaluate gender-inclusive NRM strategies that drive both ecological sustainability and social justice.
